王 中 简 介

1963年1月生于北京,1988年毕业于中央美术学院雕塑系。现为中央美术学院教授、博士生导师、城市设计学院院长、城市设计与创新研究院院长、中国公共艺术研究中心主任、北京市人民政府专家顾问团顾问、全国城市雕塑艺术委员会副主任、中国城市雕塑家协会副主席、中国室内装饰协会副会长、陈设艺术委员会主任、中国工艺美术学会副会长、国际动态艺术组织艺术委员、APDF亚太设计师联盟全球副主席。

曾荣获中国环境艺术杰出贡献奖、中国雕塑徐悲鸿奖、新中国城市雕塑60年建设成就奖等国家级艺术奖项,中国雕塑专业委员会20年贡献奖,以及刘开渠国际雕塑评委奖、晶麒麟生活艺术家等重要艺术奖项;武汉光谷《星河》雕塑荣获建国70周年中国公共艺术百项精品工程“匠心奖”。参加北京国际美术双年展、韩国昌原雕塑双年展、巴黎中国当代雕塑艺术展、美国中国当代雕塑与装置展等国内外重要展览等。 

出版专著《公共艺术概论》1-2版、《奥运文化与公共艺术》、《中国公共艺术文献汇编(1949-2015)》、《中国公共艺术案例展作品集》、《发生·发声——中国公共艺术学术论文集》、《中国公共艺术访谈录》等,发表专业论文数十篇。

2007年主持建设部“中外城市公共艺术投资政策对比研究”课题;2008年受聘第二十九届北京奥林匹克运动会开幕式策划工作,荣获北京2008奥组委颁发“工作荣誉奖”,作品《御风》永久安放在国家奥林匹克公园;2009年主持上海世博园区公共艺术设计;2011年至2016年主持北京地铁8、9、14、15号线、青岛地铁M3、M2号线公共艺术项目;2015年主持北京CBD核心区公共空间艺术规划设计,主持文化部“公共艺术在新型城镇化发展中作用研究”课题;2016年担任文化部主办中国公共艺术展策展总召集人,策划主持首届公共艺术与城市设计国际高峰论坛,创立艺术引导城市创新AUD(Art oriented Urban Design)艺术引导城市设计理念,2016年至2019年主持北京大兴国际机场公共艺术整体规划;2017年策划主持“明日城市”第二届公共艺术与城市设计国际高峰论坛,倡导“软城市”理念,以艺术思维引导城市设计,激活,优化城市公共空间品质,塑造城市的核心精神和文化品格,构建宜人的丰富多彩的人文活动空间体系,培育创新动力,创造永续的经济社会价值和文化遗产;2019年策划主持“艺术雄安 设计之都”——雄安艺术都市规划,主持武汉光谷综合体地上艺术品《星河》雕塑项目策划,参与国庆70周年北京彩车设计项目。2020年策划主持北京首都国际机场公共艺术整体规划。

  

 ABOUT WANG ZHONG

Wang Zhong was born in January 1963 in Beijing China. He graduated from the Sculpture Department of Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) in 1988. At present, he is the professor and the dean of the School of City Design at CAFA, Ph.D. supervisor, the president of the Urban Design and Innovation Institute of CAFA, Director of the CAFA Public Art Research Center China, Consultant of the Committee of Expert Consultants of the Beijing Municipal People’s Government, Deputy Director of the Chinese Committee of Urban Sculpture Art, Deputy Chairman of Chinese City Sculptor Association, Vice President of China National Interior Decoration Association, Director of the Art Display & Decoration Committee of China, Vice President of China National Arts and Crafts Society, Committee Member of International Organization of Dynamic Arts, Vice President of Asia Pacific Designers Federation.

Wang Zhong has won many national level art awards, including the Outstanding Contribution Award of Chinese Environmental Art, Xu Beihong Chinese Sculpture Award, the Achievement Award of New China Urban Sculptures Construction in the Past Six Decades. Besides, he has won the Contribution Award of Chinese Sculpture Professional Committee in the Past 20 Years, Liu Kaiqu International Sculpture Review Award and the Crystal Kylin Artist of Life Awards etc. The sculpture ‘Star River’ of Guanggu Square of Wuhan China won the "ingenuity Award" of China’s Top 100 public art projects for the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. His works have been exhibited at art exhibitions both in China and abroad, such as the Beijing International Biennale Fine Arts Exhibition, the Changwon Sculpture Biennale, Chinese Contemporary Sculpture Exhibition in Paris, Chinese Contemporary Sculpture & Art Installations Exhibition in the U.S.

Wang Zhong has published several books like “Introduction to Public Art (1&2 edition)”, “The Culture of Olympic Games & Public Art”, “Chinese Public Art d0cument Compilation”, “Public Art Exhibition Works”, “Occurrence and Voice-Chinese Public Art Academic Paper Collection” and “China Public Art Interview”. Besides, published dozens of articles and papers.

In 2007, he presided over the "Comparison of Investment Policies for Public Art in Domestic and International Cities" project commissioned by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. In 2008, he was appointed as coordinator of the 29th Beijing Olympic Games opening ceremony planning work and won the "Honorable Work Award" bestowed by the 2008 Beijing Olympic Organizing Committee. His work "Driving the Wind" has been permanently placed in the National Olympic Park. And he presided over the Shanghai World Expo Park public art design work in 2009. He also presided over the Beijing Metro line 8,9,14,15, and Qingdao Metro line M3, M2 public art project from 2011 to 2016. In 2015, he chaired the planning and design of public space art in the Beijing CBD core area and has been in charge of the “Research on the effect on the Public Art in New Urbanization Development” project commissioned by the Ministry of Culture. In 2016, he was the curator of the China Public Art Exhibition hosted by the Chinese Ministry of Culture. He presided the First Public Art and Urban Design International Forum, suggested the idea of AUD (Art oriented Urban Design). From 2016 to 2019, he has presided the Beijing Daxing International Airport public art overall planning. In 2017 he was the general director of the City for Tomorrow Conference 2017- 2nd Public Art and City Design International Summit. He also advocated the idea of “Soft City", leading city design and development with artistic thoughts, activate, renew the quality of public city space, create the city’s spirit and cultural quality. Build a pleasing and colorful space and system for human activities, foster innovation impetus, create sustainable economic, social values and cultural heritage. Since 2019, he has been in charge of ‘Art Xiongan, Design City’——Xiongan Art Polis Planning, the sculpture ‘Star River’ Project of Wuhan Guanggu Square, and participated in the Beijing Floats Design project for the 70th anniversary of the National Day. Besides, he has presided the Beijing Capital International Airport public art overall planning 2020.
